“My inspiration this season was royalty of the past and present, naming each gown after a queen. In this collection, I combined soft and romantic fabrics with the dramatic detailing for which I have become known. It’s about a beautifully executed, elegant gown that evokes emotion in a bride. This is achieved in each gown and will definitely make every woman feel royal!” ~Angel Rivera, Designer

CUE Vendor Spotlight: Tsirkus Fotografika

It can be a difficult task to create a unique and memorable event that stands out from the rest.   Here at CUE we are always looking to find innovative and fresh vendors to keep your guests impressed.  In Walked RA from Tsirkus Fotografika.

Introducing Tsirkus Fotografika:  a non-profit, public arts organization designed to bring creativity to communities while documenting public life at its most lively.  Tsirkus specializes in vintage itinerant photography and low tech multimedia shows, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Tsirkus is extremely eco-friendly, treading little to no carbon footprint.  They are a tax deductible company when donating via Fractured Atlas, who take public transportation, foot-power or carpool whenever possible and are always looking for better ways to improve the environment.  Tsirkus travels from town to town, designing and capturing unique vintage shoots, using an almost obsolete polaroid camera, where the models act as both model and audience.

-The photography models pose for these unique photos and, subsequently, act as the audience who purchase the photos contributing to the featured non-profit cause.

-The camera, once a staple of portrait studios, a Graflex Super-D is over 70 years old.  There are very few still in active use and very few people who will work on them.

-Tsirkus has been written up in NY Magazine, Supplementaire (UK Fashion Journal), and CBS Philadelphia Online.

RA Friedman is the founder of Tsirkus Fotografika.  The project began due to a freezer failure when a 30+ year-old frozen Polaroid had defrosted and he questioned what to do with it!  When he’s not busy with non-profit photography shows, RA works as an archivist for primarily Yiddish language recordings, a profession held by maybe five other people in the world.  For more information on RA Friedman and Tsirkus Fotografika, visit www.http://tsirkus.org or follow them on Facebook as Tsirkus Fotografika.

Dress Of The Week: Sarah Jassir’s Iris

This dress of the week is part of Sarah Jassir’s collection.  The Iris is a tulle ball gown with organza ruched bodice with lace appliques.  Just this past week, Sarah Jassir’s bridal salon announced its opening in New York City.  This particular dress is from a collection inspired by the “creative process” itself.  Congratulations Sarah Jassir and thank you for all your stunning dresses.

I just absolutely love the intricately fitted bodice on top paired with layer upon layer of tulle creating a wedding extravaganza!! This dress exudes chic sophistication and fantasy fun all in one! Absolutely LOVE!  What are your thoughts?

Dress of the Week: Elizabeth Fillmore

This week I picked a dress that is a little different (or as different as a wedding dress can be) and went for something more fun and contemporary. Elizabeth Fillmore designs wedding dresses to satisfy the tastes of all types of brides. She designs traditional gowns to dresses for the big day that have an edge of sexiness to them. Just ask Danielle. Elizabeth Fillmore herself was kind enough to tweak one of her very own designs for Danielle almost just six years ago for Danielle’s wedding dress!

This week’s pick is the Belle dress from the Spring 2012 collection (and Belle just happens to be my favorite Disney princess). Below you can view the Belle French embroidered lace short wedding dress with long sleeves.

I also love the fashionable veil, that adds a little excitement to the outfit without a long veil taking away from the beauty of the dress. Another way to add some style to this dress would be to wear a bold color shoe such as a fuchsia!

Feel free to browse on the website to get some fabulous ideas!

Dress of the Week: Anne Barge

After all the excitement of the Royal Wedding and finally seeing Kate Middleton’s choice for her wedding dress, the girls at CUE thought this week’s Dress of the Week should be dedicated to a gown featuring lace – and who can do it better than Anne Barge?

This dress is covered with Alençon lace with fine details around its sweetheart neckline making this little number all the more elegant. The ribbon detail, sitting perfectly on the waist, ties back forming a bow that cascades down the back of the dress. Barge finishes off by fashioning the lower half as an asymmetrical layered tulle skirt with horsehair trim.

What is your take on a lace wedding dress?
