“My inspiration this season was royalty of the past and present, naming each gown after a queen. In this collection, I combined soft and romantic fabrics with the dramatic detailing for which I have become known. It’s about a beautifully executed, elegant gown that evokes emotion in a bride. This is achieved in each gown and will definitely make every woman feel royal!” ~Angel Rivera, Designer

Dress of the Week: Acacia by Anne Barge

This week we bring you a dress from Anne Barge’s 2014 Spring collection. This season Anne was inspired by the romance of the past. The soft pastels and sense of lightness as evoked by the Impressionist painter, Claude Monet was Anne’s muse. She was particularly inspired by Monet’s vision and breath-taking interpretations of his opulent gardens at Giverny, France. Thus, the gown Acacia was designed! This strapless corset is made with beaded Chantilly lace and silk organza. The mermaid skirt is accented with gorgeous cascading ruffles.

Dress of the Week: Kimberly by Vera Wang

This week we chose a wedding dress that is far from traditional. Kimberly by Vera Wang is a bold red, floor length dress with several different textures. These gorgeous textures start at the neckline, with hand-cut Chantilly lace applique placed so that the edges of the lace sit against your skin like semi-transparent wisps of flower petals, or springtime leaf buds. The uninterrupted layers of organza have perfect fluidity as there are no seams between the skirt and bodice. There’s also a ruffled, cascading effect in the bottom of the skirt. An almost-obscured, big, abstract flower floats in the base of the skirt – just a little burst of pleated tulle and eyelash tissue organza that is so lighthearted and joyous. On the back of the gown there is a beautiful, voluminous train that is tacked and bustled, with floating pieces of lace appliqué inserted into the organza layers that pop. This gown is the definition of controlled chaos.

Dress Of The Week: Sarah Jassir’s Iris

This dress of the week is part of Sarah Jassir’s collection.  The Iris is a tulle ball gown with organza ruched bodice with lace appliques.  Just this past week, Sarah Jassir’s bridal salon announced its opening in New York City.  This particular dress is from a collection inspired by the “creative process” itself.  Congratulations Sarah Jassir and thank you for all your stunning dresses.

Dress of the Week: Kenneth Pool

Kenneth Pool’s  Farrah is the dress that stole our hearts this week. This floor length gown is made of luxurious silk organza, including the beautifully delicate flowers adorning the single shoulder strap.  The dropped waist and ruched bodice add flair, along with an elaborate draped skirt. Dress of the Week: Sarah Jassir

This week’s Dress of the Week feature goes out to someone who not only creates amazing ensembles but also showcases them with a cause. We are going to do a two week feature with designer Sarah Jassir. Danielle was very fortunate to be able to attend Jassir’s fashion show and see her Opulence Fall 2012 collection up close and personal! Our pick for this week is called: Celestial.

Also, can you guess what message Sarah Jassir is expressing through her collection? Be sure to check out the answer in her second Dress of the Week feature next week!

Dress of the Week: Melissa Sweet

As the summer draws to a close, we open up our palette to suit next season’s foliage. There are the usual colors such as orange, brown and red, but the girls at CUE like to focus on colors that complement and make each event differ from the next.

For this week’s dress of the week we are shifting our focus from bride to bridesmaids. Not only are these women a great support system for brides, they also play a major role during the ceremony by simply showcasing what they are wearing and thereby serving as a significant element of the design palette. Melissa Sweet created a wonderful dress that is featured in majestic.

The plunging back with floral detail is one of the best features of this dress. Since the weather is cool and breezy during the fall, the enclosed front of the dress will keep the gals warm while at the same time maintaining some sassy style when viewed from the back. Lastly, the loose bottom will not restrict the bridesmaids when sitting or, more importantly, dancing. These girls will also be spending the whole day getting ready for the big day, so comfort is key!

What other color options would you choose when wearing this dress?

Kiki

Dress of the Week: Tara Keely

This week we are featuring a dress that caught our eye created by Lazaro Perez in his Tara Keely collection.

One of the biggest reasons why this dress caught our attention was due to the big bow belt that sits at the waist. It comes in various colors including black, white and ivory, which can tie in perfectly with your bridal party if you choose a specific color scheme for your wedding. Lazaro perfectly matched the playful bow on a strapless sweetheart dress made of silk organza and tulle.

This dress can work in any setting, whether your event is in a garden or a ballroom. What other dresses from Lazaro’s collection catch your eye?
