O say can you see…

…this festive red, white & blue margarita!  The Curtain Up Events team cooked this up ourselves to get started celebrating the 4th.

Recipe makes one (1) Margarita. Adjust your recipe according to the number of guests you are serving!

CUE Patriotic Margarita:

2 ounces of your favorite tequila

1 ounce of Peach Schnapps (our fancy twist!)

1 cup of strawberries with the stems removed

juice of 1/2 a lime.

Mint sprig to garnish.

Assemble all of the ingredients in a blender and fill with ice, blend until the consistency is nice and smooth. Before pouring, wipe the rim of each glass with a lime wedge, and then lightly salt each rim. Voila! Your drinks will look professionally done! On a side note, our blue salt was created by adding a few drops of  food coloring into a bowl of  plain salt, however, once the drink began to melt- it got a little messy. We suggest you skip the food coloring, as our fingers may still have a hint of blue on them! Our mixologists are certain that this margarita is sure to be a hit at your Independence Day gathering this year- enjoy responsibly!

This Is Not The Career I Ordered

Many people grow up knowing exactly what they want to be, from doctor or lawyer to astronaut or actor. But what happens once you have lived your dream? Is it everything you imagined? Are you satisfied with reaching your goal or do you set a new one and do all you can to achieve that one, too?

Caroline Dowd-Higgins is the author of This is Not the Career I Ordered: Empowering Strategies from Women Who Have Recharged, Reignited, and Reinvented Their Careers. She focuses on female entrepreneurs, the unique challenges of their individual journeys and how they overcame obstacles along the way. For some of these women, a change of career meant a dramatic change of lifestyle – a transformation both daunting and thrilling, and a chance they were willing to take. All of these stories are empowering inspiration for women who, thus far, have only dreamt about taking that next step.

Danielle Bobish was honored when Caroline asked her to be featured in her book. Talking about her career and company, Curtain Up Events, Danielle speaks with Caroline about her path from  actress to event planner.
