{First Blog} Dress of the Week: Pronovias

First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sallie, and I am the newest member of Curtain Up Events and so thrilled to be involved with this company. Kiki and Danielle have shown me the ropes, thus leading to my first blog entry. What’s more exciting than starting with Dress of the Week? After careful consideration (and shopping around countless websites), I have decided to feature a dress from the wonderful designer Pronovias.

This week’s Dress of the Week is the Adam wedding gown in Pronovia’s 2011 Fashion Collection.

I wanted to begin my first blog by choosing a dress that not only caught my eye, but gave you a little taste of my style. This one-shoulder, mermaid style dress is without a doubt a sexy, body hugging gown for the traditional bride who desires a modern twist. The full-length lace gives it a beautiful, conventional feel. However, the style and silhouette along with the materials that this gown is comprised of make it different from other traditional wedding gowns.

The Pronovias group dresses brides in 75 various countries. Originating in Spain, this company adds a little international flare to their designs, which make them all that much more special. In total there are 150 stores worldwide, employing over 730 people. Using thin, light and soft materials such as chiffon, pleated chiffon or morbid tulle, this collection of dresses exemplifies elegance and class all the way!

We definitely suggest that those of you who are looking for similar, fabulous designs check out the website or visit one of the many stores all around the world!

Xoxo,

Sallie

To All the Dads:

On this day, I would like to honor all of the incredible men out there who embody the word “Father”.  My Father instilled in me the importance of a good work ethic and how to save.  He shared with me a love for the beach (the Jersey Shore to be exact) and the ocean, a passion for ice hockey (Go Devils!) and a weakness for good doughnuts.  I inherited his ear for music and his sense of rhythm.  For all of these things I am thankful but, most of all, I am thankful to be able to give him time to share all of these things with his granddaughter.

I am also lucky to have a husband that is an incredible father to his daughter.  A partner who let me sleep in on Father’s Day because I had a late night of work.  I love watching my daughter’s face as he comes in the door after a day of work.  She adores him.  I hear him talk about all of the things he can’t wait to teach her and I melt.

So, to all of the Dads out there, we here at CUE wish you a Happy Father’s Day.  May your day be filled with all of the things and people you love (and hopefully a little BBQ).  🙂

xoxo,

Danielle

{CUE Vendor Spotlight}: NYC Heritage Tours

Need to entertain out-of-towners on your wedding weekend? We have just the solution!

Meet Marc Foner, a licensed NYC tour guide and founder of NYC Heritage Tours, LLC. After meeting with him recently and receiving a “mini” tour on the history of the Financial District, the CUE team found ourselves learning much more than we’d anticipated. Just a short distance from the office, we learned several hundred years of history in about an hour and a half. It’s amazing how much history surrounds the places we stroll by almost every day, and we have no idea!

NYC Heritage Tours offers over 80 tours including an All-City Tour, Ellis Island, Greenwich Village, Secret Museums, and Women of New York. The newest and most anticipated tour: The Mad Men Tour! That’s right, as in a tour based on the TV series Mad Men. Marc and/or his expert team take you through the city, focusing on significant landmarks from various episodes of the show.

If you are looking for something to entertain your out-of-town guests who find themselves with a little free time between your wedding ceremony and the reception, this is the perfect idea! You can also suggest it as an activity for guests who are trying to determine what they can do with an extra day during the wedding weekend. It is a private walking tour that can easily be converted to a bus, van, limo or luxury boat tour tailored to individuals and groups.

Check out Marc’s website at www.nycheritagetours.com and see for yourself!

xoxo,

Sallie
